Living Room Renovation - Nottingham

The design brief on this job was to strip back everything, amend electrics, uplift the floorboards and insulate the floor, make good the uneven ceiling and open up the fireplace ready for a wood burning stove.

We started by removing the original gas fire and enlarging the opening for the new stove, putting in a new concrete lintel and lining the opening with an A1 fire rated board.

Next we removed the plasterboard from the ceiling too see why it was so uneven, we then spent some time ensuring the ceiling was flat and true ready to take the new plasterboard.

The floorboards were then carefully up lifted and saved for re fitting, electrics and home audio were first fixed before we insulated the floor with 100mm PU foil board, then floorboards re fitted.

Walls were then prepared for a full re skim. The floor was then overboarded with 9mm plywood in preparation for the karndean flooring. New skirting/ architrave and custom designed mantle piece with log store were all fitted. Electrics were second fixed along with the ceiling speakers for the home audio system.

Finally karndean flooring was installed to finish the project.
