Garden Building Project - Nottingham
The design brief for this job was to build a garden room that could double up as a home gym which was suitable for use all year round.
We started by plotting out the base and fitting 100mm pu foil board, ready for concreting.
Once the base was finished and the concrete dry, we set about building the walls, we opted for 5” timber so we could fit 100mm pu foil board in the walls.
We then constructed the window and door openings then started constructing the roof.
All the walls were lined with 12mm OSB board and 18mm OSB board used on the roof.
Walls were then wrapped with a waterproof breather membrane and battens screwed to the OSB ready to take the cladding.
The roof was then covered with a rubber membrane, window and door fitted and the whole building fitted with an exterior cladding.
Once water tight the walls and roof were insulated with 100mm pu foil board, vital for keeping the building cool in summer and warm in the winter.
Electrics were then first fixed and the whole room plasterboarded and skimmed.
Skirting board was then fitted along with second fix electrics ready for decorating and flooring.
We think the end result looks fantastic and the customer was over the moon with their finished building.
